While most high school
students were enjoying the last weeks of summer, the 2004 Pittsford Girls’ Swim
and Diving Team began their preseason training. 3 weeks, 36 miles of running,
180,000 yards of swimming and countless hours of “dry land” exercises later,
the Pittsford S’Women began their season on September 9th with a
101-69 victory over the Eastridge Lancers.
Jenny Lewis, Jessie Ward, captain
Libby Brush, and captain Stephanie House finished first in the 200 yard medley
relay with teammates Lindsay Wahl, Em Wells, captain Courtney Brayman and Kelley
Groves in 2nd, and Amanda Lang, Becca Hazen, Aly Criscuolo, and
Alexa Ashworth in 3rd. Jenna Arington won the 200 yard freestyle
with Meghan Green and Claire Geiser right behind her in 2nd and 3rd.
Wahl won the 200 yard
individual medley with Hazen finishing 5th. Lisa Prezzano, Ashworth
and Allie Pink finished 2nd, 4th and 5th in
the 50 yard freestyle.
Eliza Massie, Hilary
Dubeshter, and Ashley Slaughter swept the diving. House won the 100 yard
butterfly with Lewis touching in 2nd just behind her. Pink was 5th.
Hailey Weniger won the 100 yard freestyle with Brayman and Ward finishing just
behind her in 2nd and 4th. Criscuolo, Wells and Ashworth
swam to a 1st, 2nd and 4th finish in the 500
yard freestyle.

The Junior Varsity Swimmers and
Divers were also successful in their season opener, besting the Lancers 96-59.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Rachel House, Maggie Craig, Katie Vaughn, and
Alex Trobe just touched out the teams of Olivia Tylukti, Jordyn
Snyder, Lindsay Matthews and Sophia Salvia, and Emily DiPaulo,
Bonita Sur, Jen Lang and Karin Lee with a
Elise Morris, Vaughn and Jen
Lang also had a
The 200 yard freestyle relay
teams of Tylukti, House, Geary and Trobe, Beamish, Burns, Jen Lang and Miller,
and Morris, Catherine Tuttle, Vaughn and Sur swam as
exhibition. Also finishing the meet as exhibition were House, McNamara and
Caitlin O’Leary in the 100 yard backstroke, Snyder, Stephanie Ross and Mandy
Ellis in the 100 yard breaststroke. The 400 yard freestyle relay teams also
swam as exhibition.
The Varsity S’Women are led by senior captains Courtney Brayman, Libby Brush and
Stephanie House. The S’Women hope to repeat their performance of last year,
when they swam to an undefeated record in dual meets, a Section V Class A
championship and a number 1 ranking in NY State. Their next meet is on
September 21st when they travel to Spencerport.
