S’Women face the Braves of Canandaigua next
Long bus rides and late nights were the norm last week when the Varsity and JV Girls Swim teams traveled first to Hilton to compete against the Cadets on Tuesday and then up to Webster Thursday to take on the Lakers. By week’s end, their efforts had been rewarded and the Pittsford S’Women were able to claim two more additional league wins this season.
At Hilton, members of the 200 Medley Relay took first (Erica Bryson, Mallory Ward, Sarah Dempsey and Kala Wilkins) and second place (Jennifer Proper, Danielle Phillips, Amanda House and Elizabeth Maier) with times of 1:55.49 and 2:00.60.
That was followed by Maddie Ashworth (2:01.86) placing first, Sarah Dempsey (2:03.88) second, Olivia Holodnik (2:06.22) third and Danielle Proper (2:08.81) finishing fourth in the 200 Free.
In the 200 IM, Sarah Dempsey finished second (2:14.89). Danielle Phillips (2:21.42) placed fourth, Jennifer Proper came in fifth (2:22.41) and Amanda House (2:27.37) was sixth.
Coming in first place in the 50 Free was Jenny Riley (25.83). Kala Wilkins placed second with a time of 26.22 while Elizabeth Maier finished third (26.34). In eighth place was Erin Connolly (28.21).
In the diving competition, Carrie DeMoulin finished second with a score of 163.60.
The 100 Fly was won by Sarah Dempsey in a time of 1:01.75. Going 3-4-6, were teammates Erica Bryson (1:03.91), Jennifer Conklin (1:06.83) and Katie Hart (1:09.05).
Pittsford went 1-2-3-7 in the 100 Free. Kala Wilkins took first place with a time of 57.11. In second place was Elizabeth Maier (58.90) while Shannon Dempsey (59.01) finished third. Erin Connolly placed seventh (1:01.60) in the event.
Madeline Ashworth won the 500 Free in a time of 5:23.42. Teammates Danielle Proper, Jennifer Conklin and Katie Hart finished third (5:32.07), fourth (5:42.40) and fifth (5:45.59).
The combination of Shannon Dempsey, Elizabeth Maier, Jenny Riley and Kala Wilkins placed first in the 200 Free Relay (1:43.61). While the relay team of Olivia Holodnik, Madeline Ashworth, Mallory Ward and Jennifer Proper took third (1:48.80) place. Coming in fourth place (1:51.97) was Jennifer Conklin, Erin Connolly, Katie Hart and Danielle Proper.
In the 100 Back, Jennifer Proper won the event with a time of 1:03.38 while Erica Bryson placed second (1:06.16). Jenny Riley finished fourth (1:07.41) and Olivia Holodnik came in fifth (1:09.06).
Having secured the win, the Pittsford S’Women swam the remainder of the meet in exhibition. Competing in the 100 Breaststroke were Mallory Ward (1:10.26), Danielle Phillips (1:11.92), Amanda House (1:16.00) and Carrie DeMoulin (1:44.46).
In the 400 Free Relay, Sarah Dempsey, Madeline Ashworth, Erica Bryson and Shannon Dempsey finished with a time of 3:47.83. The combo of Olivia Holodnik, Katie Hart, Danielle Phillips, and Jenny Riley swam the event in a 4:00.36 while Erin Connolly, Amanda House, Danielle Proper, Jennifer Conklin went a 4:10.87.
The final score - Pittsford 171, Hilton 121.
The JV S’Women proved to be too much for Hilton’s JV as well. Beginning with the 200 Medley Relay, Pittsford went 1-2-4. The group of Kaelan Fennell, Kenzie Ward, Sydney Ryan and Anna Grazulis finished first (2:10.92) while Julia Cavanagh, Andrea Meier, Genevieve Yaeger and Jenna Mattina took second (2:18.15). Caroline Curran, Emily Waldman, Briana Viera and Anisha Singh placed fourth (2:24.68).
Audrey Hunt won the 200 Free with a time of 2:13.87. In second place was Stephanie Andrews (2:16.51) while third place went to Caroline Tuttle (2:33.33).
In the 200 IM, Pittsford went 2-3-4-6. Jane Zhu finished with a time of 2:39.26, Kenzie Ward went a 2:41.72, Lainy Hummel a 2:43.49 and Julia Cavanagh contributed with a time of 2:56.98.
Anna Grazulis won the 50 Free with a time of 28.41. Teammates Lydia Hunt, Katie Siebodnik, and Emily Waldman placed third (29.41), fourth (32.06) and fifth (32.09) respectively.
Courtney Stern won the Junior Varsity portion of the diving completion with a score of 69.85.
In the 100 Butterfly, Lydia Hunt came in second place (1:17.11) while Olivia Waldman placed third (1:19.61). Briana Viera and Genevieve Yaeger finished fifth (1:23.18) and sixth (1:24.92).
The JV went 1-2-3-6 in the 100 Free. Emily Carroll won the event in a time of 1:04.93. Second and third place went to Kenzie Ward (1:05.02) and Kaelan Fennell (1:06.22). Andrea Meier contributed to the win finishing sixth with a time of 1:12.04.
Jenna Mattina won the 500 swimming the freestyle event in a time of 6:06.10. Placing second was Sydney Ryan (6:06.41), Lainy Hummel came in third (6:12.44) and Caroline Tuttle finished the sweep in fourth place (6:49.55).
The 200 Free Relay was won by teammates Anna Grazulis, Audrey Hunt, Jane Zhu and Stephanie Andrews in a time of 1:54.56. Third place went to the relay team of Emily Carroll, Olivia Waldman, Meagan Branch, Julia Cavanagh (2:01.76). Coming in fourth (2:07.68) was the combo of Laura Petishnok, Olivia Gallagher, Rebecca Warner and Briana Viera.
Anna Grazulis won the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:11.40. Kaelan Fennell followed in second place (1:13.72), while Caroline Curran and Katie Siebodnik finished fourth (1:17.58) and sixth (1:27.77).
Swimming exhibition in the 100 Breast was Jane Zhu (1:20.75), Andrea Meyer (1:25.54), Meghan Branch (1:28.06) and Emily Waldman (1:32.19).
In the 400 Free Relay the combination of Audrey Hunt, Lydia Hunt, Lainy Hummell and Stephanie Andrews swam exhibition along with the relay team of Jenna Mattina, Laura Petishnok, Caroline Tuttle and Julia Cavanagh. Anisha Singh, Courtney Stern, Katie Siebodnik and Rebecca Warner also competed.
The final score – Pittsford 172, Hilton 104
On Thursday, the Pittsford S’Women faced a newly combined (Thomas and Schroeder) Webster swim team.
In the 200 Medley, the “A” relay of Erica Bryson, Mallory Ward, Sarah Dempsey and Elizabeth Maier placed first (1:55.98). The “C” relay (Jennifer Proper, Danielle Phillips, Jennifer Conklin, Erin Connolly) took second with a time of 2:00.69 and the “B” relay (Olivia Holodnik, Amanda House, Danielle Proper and Katie Hart) came in fourth (2:05.54).
Erica Bryson won the 200 Free in a time of 2:01.35. Kala Wilkins finished second (2:05.57) and Elizbeth Maier placed fourth (2:13.04). Swimming exhibition was Amanda House (2:10.56).
Shannon Dempsey, with a time of 2:19.79, won the 200 IM. Jennifer Conklin placed third (2:29.66) and Katie Hart came in fourth (2:30.28).
Sarah Dempsey in turn won the 50 Free in a time of 25.76 while Maddie Ashworth placed fourth (26.95) and Mallory Ward finished sixth (27.98). Swimming exhibition was Danielle Proper (28.18).
With a score of 173.65, Carrie DeMoulin took second place in the diving competition.
Pittsford went 2-3-4 in the 100 Butterfly. Olivia Holodnik swam the event in a 1:08.05 while Danielle Proper did it in a 1:08.61 and Jenny Riley finished with a time of 1:13.06. Swimming exhibition was Danielle Phillips (1:06.84).
Erica Bryson, Maddie Ashworth and Amanda House went 2-3-4 in the 100 Freestyle event. Their times were 57.22, 57.50 and 1:00.88 respectively. Mallory Ward, swimming exhibition, finished with a 1:01.42.
The 500 Free was swept by Shannon Dempsey (5:26.74) who won the event followed by Kala Wilkins (5.38.00), who placed second, and Jennifer Proper (5:38.33) who finished third. Elizabeth Maier swam a 5:59.77 (exhibition).
The “A” relay group of Shannon Dempsey, Elizabeth Maier, Jenny Riley and Kala Wilkins won the 200 Free Relay (1:44.09) while third place went to the “C” combo of Carrie DeMoulin, Katie Hart, Jennifer Proper and Maddie Ashworth (1:56.41).
In the 100 Back, Erin Connolly placed second with a time of 1:10.71. Jennifer Conklin took fifth place (1:12.75) and Katie Hart, swimming exhibition, finished with a time of 1:11.68.
First and second place in the 100 Breast went to Danielle Phillips (1:12.42) and Sarah Dempsey (1:13.48). Jennifer Proper picked up fifth place with a time 1:17.50 while Jenny Riley (1:20.44) swam exhibition.
The 400 Relay was won by the “A” team of Sarah Dempsey, Maddie Ashworth, Erica Bryson and Shannon Dempsey (3:47.70). Third place went to the “B” combination of Amanda House, Erin Connolly, Danielle Proper and Jennifer Conklin (4:06.18).
Final score – Pittsford 113.5, Webster 66.5
The JV team proved equally successful against their Webster counterparts. Right from the start, Pittsford’s “A” (Stephanie Andrews, Kenzie Ward, Sydney Ryan and Audrey Hunt) and “B” relay teams went 1-2 in the 200 Medley Relay. A time of 2:09.08 proved to be enough for first while 2:13.17 was enough for second. The “C” combo of Emily and Olivia Waldman, Julia Cavanagh and Caroline Curran took fifth place (2:23.38).
In the 200 Free, Lainy Hummell won the event with a time of 2:18.64. Third and fifth place went to Megan Branch (2:21.52) and Katie Siebodnik (2:37.85). Swimming exhibition was Rebecca Warner (2:32.07).
Sydney Ryan (2:29.90) and Anna Grazulis (2:33.29) went 1-2 in the 200 IM. While Andrea Meyer finished in fifth place (2:50.28).
In the 50 Free, Audrey Hunt took first place in a time of 28.94. Kenzie Ward and Julia Cavanagh placed fourth (29.62) and fifth (30.73). Nina Daniels competed in the event and swam a 31.43 (exhibition).
Sydney Ryan placed first in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:09.44. Teammates Jane Zhu finished third (1:15.01) and Genevieve Yeager placed fourth (1:18.21).
Going 1-2-3 in the 100 Free were Anna Grazulis (1:00.75), Stephanie Andrews (1:01.70) and Jenna Mattina (1:03.577). Swimming exhibition was Emily Carroll (1:04.97).
Audrey (6:02.01) and Lydia Hunt (6:13.06) finished 1-2 in the 500 Free. Nina Daniels took fifth place with a time of 6:53.17.
In the 200 Free Relay, Anna Grazulis, Sydney Ryan, Jane Zhu and Stephanie Andrews won the event (1:53.30) while the “B” relay of Lainy Hummell, Kaelan Fennell, Emily Carroll and Olivia Waldman took second place (1:59.78).
The JV went 1-2-3 in the 100 Backstroke. Kaelan Fennell (1:13.07) took first, Julia Cavanagh (1:15.66) second and Kenzie Ward finished third (1:17.01). Swimming exhibition was Caroline Curran who finished the event in 1:19.72.
With the victory assured, the final two events of the meet were swum exhibition. In the 100 Breaststroke, Jane Zhu (1:17.93), Stephanie Andrews (1:20.59), Meagan Branch (1:29.03) and Emily Waldman (1:29.71) competed for the Pittsford S’Women.
In the 400 Relay, the “A” team of Anna Grazulis, Jenna Mattina, Lydia and Audrey Hunt finished with a time of 4:22.12. The “B” team (Meagan Branch, Genevieve Yeager, Olivia Waldman and Julia Cavanagh) swam a 4:34.54 and the “C” relay (Nina Daniels, Rebecca Warner, Andrea Meyer and Olivia Gallagher) finished in 4:52.76.
The final score was Pittsford JV 102, Webster JV 66.
Pittsford’s final regular season meet will be held tomorrow, Thursday October 22nd @ 4:30pm. This being the final home contest, the team’s seniors will be honored immediately following the diving event. Post season competition begins in early November.
